His song 'Seasons of Change' was a top five finalist in the jazz category of the same competition, and his song 'Kisses From Heaven' was judged a finalist in the Unisong Song Contest – one of the largest song competitions in the world. He also runs a music venue/café in Newcastle called the Soapbox Café, which features the very best in Australian musicians, while raising funds to feed homeless and disadvantaged people in the Newcastle CBD.
