  • 12 Mile Tombstone - 12 Mile Tombstone are a 5 piece metal-core band that formed in January 2006. In mid 2006 the band parted ways with their front man and long time friend Damien Barnes but quickly found vocalist James Dunn to take his place. Other band members are Nathan Jones, guitars/vocals, James Overend, guitars/vocals, Mitchell Elliot, bass, Cameron Overend, drums/vocals.
  • Port Stephens Music Alliance - Port Stephens Music Alliance or P.S.M.A are a group of like minded individuals from the Port Stephens area dedicated to the growth and sustainability of music within the community for future generations. From local writers Gareth Hudson (from The Good) and Nick Higginbotham and presented by JJK Productions, Shining Isle is directed by Jason King (Rent and Children of Eden) and musically directed by composer Gareth Hudson.

  • Dorian Mode - Dorian Mode is one of Australia's leading jazz performers. He sat for a degree in composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying jazz piano with Mike Nock, arranging with Roger Frampton and Bill Motzing and orchestration with Bozidar Kos. On leaving the conservatorium he released an independent C.D. with the cheeky retro title: Man, Dig that Groovy Mode. This earned him a publishing contract with Mushroom and a deal with a leading jazz label in Japan. He is currently head of the jazz dept at the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music.

  • Just ... - Just... are a four piece Punk/Emo/Rock/Progressive influenced band from Newcastle, who formed in the July of 2003. They were been selected to play at YouthRock '05 and YouthRock '06, which pits the top 40 bands in NSW against each other. Also they have finished in the top 3 in 5 of their last 6 Battle of the Bands competitions - including taking out First place at both Singleton Battle of the Bands (August '05) and the Hunter Reigon Battle of the Bands in April 2006. In 2006 they completed their Debut EP "Jealousy's a Curse".
  • Le Minibus - A mixture of European Gypsy music, French tracks and tangos, Greek, klezmer and American jug music. Vocalist and fiddle player Su Morley says the music of Le Minibus is danceable and uplifting. 'Django'-style guitar rhythms, gypsy fiddle, wild clarinet, accordion, grooving double bass, bouzouki, banjo, quirky percussion and harmony vocals.
  • The Big Empty - The Big Empty is a three piece from Newcastle; NSW who are tearing up the local scene and blowing their audiences away with their creative and catchy rock/pop/ blues style. Guitarist/ vocalist, Grant 'Joe Holiday' Hanlon, is self taught on guitar and vocals and after 2 years of jamming in his bedroom he took his passion to the stage. He preformed various incarnations for around seven years until the big empty was born. Drummer, Michelle 'Lucy Sugarcube' Ryan, always had a passion for the drums, although her first instrument was actually the violin at age 14. At 17 her desire to play drums became a reality. Lucy had drum lessons for 2 years, then pursued drumming further and studied at The Institute of Music in Sydney (2002). She received a High Distinction for drums and graduated overall with a distinction. Bass guitarist Alan 'Teddybear' Whitehead is first and foremost a drummer. Driven by a teenage obsession with Dave Lombardo's drumming style Alan put his all into learning about drums and rhythm. From then on Alan has continued to expand his musical knowledge and love for rhythm by taking an interest in hand percussion, bass guitar and improvisation.

  • The Instant - Born in 1999 as Audiophile, the band spent the best part of five years, playing shows around Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne. 2005 saw the band take a break from the live music scene to pursue travel, love, art and other music projects. (Purplene & Firekites) Rejuvinated and with new levels of inspiration, the band have reformed under new band name 'The Instant'.
  • Mark Wells - Mark Wells first picked up a guitar at 8 years of age, and joined his first band in high school with long-time friends Tim Russell, Matt Plummer and Alexander McIntyre as lead singer of Supersonic. Now Mark is set to carve out a solo career with his infectious brand of pop/rock songwriting and his energetic live show.

  • Dale Willis - Dale Willis began playing guitar at the age of 7 when his father showed him D, G and A7 then taught him his first tune 'Home Among theGum Trees'. This later led on to performing with his dad, Gerry Willis and John French who played shows in the southern NSW region of Australia as the popular country duo 'Timbuck Two'. During his secondary schooling, he performed with school bands for a number of years as lead guitarist, and was a featured performer at the Billabong High School Variety Concert in 1994 playing 'Stevies Blues' to a backing track he had composed on the family's Yamaha keyboard. Aside from jamming with garage-bands and playing with his dad, Dale joined his first band - 'Country Party'- at age 16. He played lead guitar in festivals and clubs for this country/rock outfit for about a year. Currently, aside from producing and teaching, Dale is focusing on composing original material and performing his unique style of Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar at venues around Australia. He has shared the stage with the likes of Ross Wilson (Daddy Cool/Mondo Rock), Richard Clapton, Gina Jefferies, Rod McCormick and Kamahl. 2004 saw Dale raise the bar, being named the 2004 Australian Fingerstyle Champion. Later that same year he took out the USA Songwriting Competition (Instrumental Category) - only the second Australian to do so. He was also named runner-up in the International Acoustic Music Awards shortly after. He plans on releasing his first full album in 2006.

A dash of Incubus, a slurp of Sunk Loto, dollop of Lost Prophets, Glass Jaw and Taproot with just a splash of Silverchair, mixed together with a good dose of emotional torment and you have the tasty makings of the fresh new sound of Bunson.

  • 'The Newcastle Song' by Bob Hudson - The Newcastle Song, written and performed by folk singer and broadcaster Bob Hudson, who was one of the original presenters on the ABC's rock station Double Jay (2JJ). The Newcastle Song went to #1 all over the country in March 1975, making it one of the surprise hits of the year. It was a live recording of a 20-minute satirical monologue telling of the the exploits of Normie, a young Newcastle 'hoon', as he cruises along Hunter street in his hotted-up car on a Saturday night.
