The 2004 1233 ABC Newcastle Music Awards Night will see nationally acclaimed artist John Paul Young and 1233’s Drive presenter Garth Russell take to the Civic Theatre to award the Hunter and Central Coast’s finest musicians.

The awards night, which will be held on Thursday October 28 2004, will see JPY lead a stellar line up of local talent, with a performance of his internationally recognised hit “Love Is In the Air”. This song was introduced to a new generation when it was featured in the film Strictly Ballroom, featuring Paul Mecurio.

The awards night will see JPY and Garth Russell reunite for the first time since 1992, when they entertained breakfast listeners over the airwaves for local radio station NEWFM.
