1233 ABC Newcastle Music Awards Winners - 2004
Paperhalo and Foolproof were announced as joint winners in the Heavy Rock category for 2004. Paperhalo are no strangers to success at the Newcastle Music Awards, having taken out the Rock category in 2002 with their song Not Yet God and the Rock category in 2003 with Sexual Applause. Foolproof, who recently changed their name to This Shotgun Kiss, also prevailed in the Heavy Rock category in 2004 with the track Morning Sun (that turned our heart Ashes)
Julie Woodward’s song ‘Come With Me’ won both the Country category and the Central Coast Broadcaster’s Choice award. Julie started out on keyboards and singing backing vocals for an original band in Sydney called ‘Last Exit’. Julie has since relocated to the Central Coast and released her debut album, titled Home which was recorded at Avoca by producer/guitarist Glen Hannah.
Local songstress Amy Vee took out the Pop category with Habit. Amy also performed at the awards as lead singer of dance outfit On
