The Healing Art

The Healing Art is a three piece rock outfit from Newcastle who have been together since early 2003. The band, fronted by singer, guitarist and songwriter Chad Rogers, has shared the platform with such acts as Magic Dirt, The Superjesus, Waikiki, Skulker and Eskimo Joe.

After signing with Newcastle-based label Reign Records in early 2004 the band headed into 48 Volt Studios to record a six track EP with producers Dave Henderson and Rob Taylor. The EP, titled Soothe, was launched in Newcastle at the Cambridge Hotel on Saturday June 26, 2004 and was released nationally through MGM Distribution in August 2004.

Their track It’s Not A Silly Lovesong, which was an entry in the pop category 2004 Newcastle Music Awards, has recently been heard on JJJ. Their new single ‘Soothe’ is currently on spot rotation on Sydney’s FBi Radio. The band also picked up the Newcastle Band Of The Year at the The Heavenly Noise Anniversary and Awards 2004 which was held on Sunday 26th September at the Annandale Hotel.
