Brass With Class 2

“The Friends of Radio 2NUR-FM” recognising the significance of the 11th November Armistice Day will be presenting Brass With Class 2- “Remembrance Day” Concert from 2.00pm in The Lake Macquarie Performing Arts Centre, Warners Bay, NSW. The Australian Army Band Newcastle (Captain Lindsay Mee), Cardiff Northlakes Brass Band (Ron Boaden), Tenor Vocal Soloist Brian Iles and the Port Stephen Community Choir will perform an afternoon of music an event not to be missed by lovers of fine music.

The Australian Army Band Newcastle are a leading Military music group of the highest quality and standard and will add to the afternoon with their brilliance in both musicianship and deportment. To recognise the day a Remembrance segment will be conducted during the Concert to which Veterans are especially invited to attend.

Brian Isles Tenor Soloist, and the Musical Director of Port Stephens Community Choir is a seasoned performer and will include the works “You Raise Me Up”. Brian is a former lead Tenor of the World Famous “Sydney Male Choir” and has appeared in lead rolls in several Stage Musicals. He will lead his Choir in several modern Choral works including works the audience will know from the Stage and screen.

Cardiff Northlakes Brass led by Ron Boaden will perform. This Band are the East Coast of Australia Brass Band Champions and several members have also recently won numerous individual Soloist and Quartet contests as well and will delight with classic Brass Band Marches, classical works and modern Band compositions.

The Concert has been organised by Geoff McGregor the popular presenter of the Stations Brass Encounters band programme who will also and compere the afternoon.

Refreshments will be available during interval.

Tickets can be obtained from Radio 2NUR-FM on 49 215555 during office hours or at the Door. All Proceeds go to aid the Community Work of Radio 2NUR-FM who will also be supporting Legacy.
