The Hyenas

The HyenasThe Hyenas began as a group of mates that formed a band in early 2006. “We want to bring back the idea of putting on a show, for the entertainment of the audience, not the indulgence of the band” they state. The Hyenas play their own brand of punk rock and are influences by the likes of The Cramps, The Clash, Chuck Berry, AC/DC, Rancid, Rose Tattoo, Motorhead and The Ramones.

Matthew Packer of MP Imagery has uploaded a set of photographs of The Hyenas playing at The Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle on Wednesday the 18th of April. “[I] seriously wish there were more bands around like this” Matt said in his blog post about the shoot, “it makes being a rock photographer that much more fun”.

Catch the Hyenas at The Lass O’Gowrie on the 19th of May and The Lucky Country on the 31st of May and again on the 21st of July for Rock for Refuge.
