A Major Music Expo

Thursday November 1 – Newcastle City Hall – 9:00am to 8:30 pm

A galaxy of musical information will be served up at Newcastle City Hall, as Newcastle Music Week brings professionals from all around Australia to the city to share their love of music.

Workshops will be happening all day and into the evening, and Expo Hall will be abuzz with demonstrations by major music retailers and music companies. Musos Corner, The Drum Shop and Music Headquarters will be offering some great deals for anyone interested in purchasing equipment. There’ll be merch available and opportunities to get hands on with some of the latest musical equipment. In 2007, A Major Music Expo welcomes Apple. You will be able to see the latest Apple has to offer.

The only difficulty will be trying to decide which workshop to attend.

Guests for 2007 include Travis Dempsey (ex Living End), Afro Moses (international artist), Tony Mott (International Photographer), Snake (Australian Guitar Magazine), Jen Wilson (The Music Network), Mel Murray (Publicist Live Earth), Steve Kilbey (The Church) and Dai Pritchard (Rose Tattoo).

Anyone with a demo will be pleased to learn that the listening seminar is back. Artists will be invited to submit their demos and then five of these will be randomly selected. The demos will be reviewed by a listening panel made up of A & R reps, agents and publishers, who will offer advice on what the professional industry is looking for.

Want to have your say about the local music scene? A Major Music Expo will conclude with an Open Music Forum starting at 7:00pm.
