Winners of the 1233 ABC Newcastle Music Awards ‘08
Congratulations to all the finalists in this year’s 1233 ABC Newcastle Music Awards. The seventh annual awards night was an outstanding succes. Performers on the night included Jason Lowe, The Seabellies, Catherine Britt, The Humm, Urban Freeflow, Top Button Recordings, Rocwater and Gail Page. The evening culminated with a performance of the Queen classic Bohemion Rhapshody by the University of Newcastle Chamber Choir.

- Best Achievement in Sound Production - Nick Everett and Liesl Karlsson
- ABC Music Publishing and APRA Songwriters and Composers Recognition Award - Bob Corbett
- ABC Music Artist of the Year - Jason Lowe
- 1233 Tour Support Prize - Bob Corbett
- Alternative - The Dukes of Erlington - Underestimated
- Blues & Roots - Bob Corbett - Just leave me
- Contemporary - Lyn Bowtell - On Your Side
