Brackets & Jam Newcastle Launch

Brackets and Jam NewcastleThe anticipation has been building and now, after more than a decade of success on the Central Coast, Brackets and Jam is finally here to embrace Newcastle.

This volunteer-run sustainable community arts event will launch on August 15th, running from 5pm to 10pm at the Black Box Theatre. The event will continue to run on the third Saturday of every month after the launch. The Black Box part of the Newcastle Community Arts Centre on Parry Street Newcastle West.

With the massive amount of talent on offer in the region, the August launch will be a taste of things to come. Events in the months and years ahead will continue to showcase the regions finest established performing artists while providing an expression space for the vast array of talented new artists.

The stellar launch line-up for August includes award winning guitarist Adam Miller, the engaging West African dance and drums of Jamo Jamo, Sydney band Girl Most Likely (featuring the homecoming of Newcastle’s own nationally acclaimed vocalist Sarah Aubrey), and recent Triple J Unearthed winners Like Alaska.

Bring your kids and enjoy an evening of entertainment the whole family can attend. Entry is just five dollars each with children under sixteen free.

Market stalls will offer locally made bargains as well as delicious dinners, drinks and snacks. Drummers old and new, bring your djembe and join in our massive drum jams.

Brackets And Jam are proud to be expanding into Newcastle and with so many of the current crop of artists heading for big things, make sure you’re at the Black Box on the 3rd Saturday of every month so you can say you saw them before they were big.
