Acoustic Awards 2010

Annual Acoustic AwardsPresented by Erina Fair and Radio 2GO, The Acoustic Awards are a competition inviting performers in genres that are popular to all ages and backgrounds. The grand final prize includes a 4 track EP recording, photo shoot, and a performing opportunity at Erina Fair in New South Wales, Australia.

A wide range of genres are accepted, but must be acoustic; mostly seeking blues, roots, jazz, classical, country, folk, burlesque, alternative, bluegrass and more. The competition will include solo artists, duos and acoustic bands. It will take place over a period of 9 weeks in The Hive area of Erina Fair Shopping Centre and will involve a minimum of 30 acts over that period. Judges will vary from week to week and will include music industry representatives and major sponsor representatives. The first heat will be on February 4th, 2010.

Acts will be encouraged to bring family and friends, as crowd response will be part of the judging criteria. Unlike the traditional “Battle of The Bands,” the Acoustic Awards will reach a broad and diverse population encompassing all ages from very young to very old, both for performers and audience.

The event is a competitive opportunity for exposure of acoustic musicians. This is a challenging, professional competition with reputable sponsors and credible organisers and judges. They encourage acoustic musicians of all ages and experience levels to apply.

Sound production and lighting supplied by All Sound Lighting and Entertainment. The Grand Prize will include a 4 track EP recording with Sound Ideas Newcastle, Advertised Gig at Erina Fair, Professional Photo Shoot by Image Focus Australia, Publicity and more.

Musicians can enter online at sonicbids.com/AnnualAcousticAwards. Entries must be received before January 14, 2010.
