Punk-rock warriors Bunt are standing at the ready to unleash upon The Great Northern Hotel in Newcastle this August, and they’ve called for backup. The Sydney punks are bringing cool-rockers Vivarta all the way from Japan to join their musical assault of the Steel City, as well as Batfoot, old-school punks from our Central Coast and Newcastle’s little rascals, Alice vs. Everything.
The Great Northern Hotel has reopened to establish itself as Newcastle’s new home for live, original music, revitalising the city with talent and culture, and are proving it with this impressive international lineup. Kicking off at 9 p.m., Friday the 13th of August will be the night to join the fight for live artists. The night will begin bopping to the tech Alice vs. Everything, followed by Vivarta’s igneous rock, Batfoot’s scruffy, wild tempo and topped off with Bunt, the band that defines distortion. Held on the main stage of the hotel’s Boiler Bar, the gig is free entry; all it asks for is your ears.
As if free entry wasn’t enough, Bunt wants to pump out some giveaways as well! Grab a schooner of Coopers ale on tap at the gig and receive a Bunt CD “Birdland”, and a loyalty card to use for the night. After four Coopers, you’ll get a free Coopers t-shirt!
