The Hyenas

The Hyenas have just finished recording their demo at RTN Studios. They will be selling the CD at low cost at their gigs, and the price includes a badge and other merchandise.

The Hyenas next live performance will be on July 21, at Rock for Refuge at the Lucky Country Hotel. The band are also planning to tour during the second half of 2007.

Waterview Top The Punk Charts

Port Stephens based punk band Waterview are currently on top of the Punk Chart at Triple J Unearthed. with their song ‘Daybreak’.

Last month Waterview were announced as the winners of a competition at Triple J’s Unearthed. As winners they were offered the chance to play at the Come Together Festival on Saturday the 9th of June at Luna Park.

Catch Waterview at the Cambridge Hotel on the 6th of July when they support The Amity Affliction and Coma Lies as part of the Fruit and Nut Tour.

Waterview’s debut EP is available for $10 at their gigs and from Darken Records, Utopia Records, Missing Link, Salamander Sound, Get Wet Surf – Nelson Bay, Sushi And Cigarettes and Beaumont Street Beat.

The Mercy Call Recruit New Drummer

The Mercy Call will be an interviewed and perform an accoustic set on The Lockup Garage program on 2CCC FM on the 2nd of July. Catch the band live at the Lucky Country Hotel on Saturday the 7th of July when they will perform for the first time with their new drummer, Liz Curran. The Mercy call play at The Lucky again on the 20th of July supporting Anthem at their EP launch.

Forthcoming Album for Akuma

Local metal band Akuma has just completed wtiting songs that will appear on their first full length album, ‘Shrouds of the Final Nothing’. The album will feature 11 tracks with the recording process starting late July/early August. The band hopes to follow up with a promotional tour around Australia.
